Welcome to Mount Saint Joseph Residence and Rehabilitation
One look at our beautiful surroundings — including indoor and outdoor gardens, balconies, spacious and light-filled rooms and comfortable, inviting common areas — and you can see our commitment to providing a caring and stimulating environment that encourages independence and self-fulfillment.
One visit to our busy facility — a Sunday service or coffee and a pastry from our popular Morning Glory Café — and you can feel the spirit of peace and harmony that comes from nurturing meaningful personal relationships and a shared sense of community.
From Assisted Living residences to long-term care and communities for those with memory loss and behavioral health needs, Mount Saint Joseph is the perfect place to call home when you or your loved ones can no longer stay at home. Here, your comfort is our business. Here, your care is our calling.
When someone becomes a resident of a long-term care facility, she or he is removed from familiar surroundings where they were known and addressed as wife, husband, mother, father, sister, brother, or grandparent. These familiar roles soon change in their new environment and this can be distressing. Issues surrounding life and death, meaning and purpose, loneliness and loss, not only arise at this time but also are often magnified in an institutional setting.
That’s when Pastoral Care can make all the difference. Pastoral care is a vital part of life at Mount Saint Joseph. With our chaplains on site, residents and their loved ones receive the support and encouragement they need.
“I encourage each resident to talk about family, friends, hopes, fears, disappointments, and gradually help each one adjust to his or her new surroundings and status. In listening to their concerns, I help residents find meaning and purpose in their present situation and help them discover within themselves a source of peace, courage, and faith.”
— Chaplain Steve Kramer, Director of Pastoral Care
Because residents often become separated from their faith community and familiar rituals that nourished them spiritually, we offer a variety of spiritual activities and encourage residents to participate in those services founded on their religious beliefs, including:
- Daily Communion for residents unable to attend Mass
- Weekly Protestant Worship Service
- Weekly informal Faith Group
- Seasonal Interfaith Services
- Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick (November)
- Annual Memorial Service commemorating our deceased residents (May)
Our chaplain visits residents on a regular basis to provide on-going spiritual support to those desiring it. Residents are encouraged to request visits from their minister, priest, or rabbi, as well. Our chaplain is also available to offer support to family members and friends of residents as they express the burdens and heartaches that surface when their loved one experiences advanced age, chronic illness, and death. You are welcome to contact our chaplain at any time.
At Mount Saint Joseph we pride ourselves on having more private rooms than any other provider of rehabilitation and post-operative care services in the area. We ensure that you and your family are part of every decision as we guide you through the process of getting home as soon as safely possible.
You’ll be comforted by the same face during the screening, intake and welcome process. Our family-friendly transition services will ensure that all of your questions are answered in a way that you will easily understand. We also offer in-house social services, mental health services, and non-denominational chaplaincy services that put important everyday needs together under one roof.
